Nintendo DSi XL - Available for pre-order from Amazon.co.uk

Nintendo wouldn’t guard down its prices for no reasons, it was late July 29, on a Thursday when Nintendo announced its massive but rarely occurring quarterly loss of over a booming 289 million dollars for a span of merely 3 months in a row. Chris Kohler over wired.com’s Gamelife shared the reasons for the said losses, it was accordingly due to a stronger counterpart yen and a heavy decline for its Nintendo DS software as Nintendo Spokesperson tried to conceal every little negative thought over Bloomberg and other press enthusiasts. Furthermore, Nintendo also tried its best to shed light to the July tragedy as it installed anticipation tio the audience saying it will finally break silence over its Nintendo 3DS and the exact shipping price and launch date of its next-generation handheld.

September has come it is, and the said anticipation was not shed a little more less; today, it is the same old said and melancholic Nintendo people announcing this very Monday a price down sled for its DSi line of portable game hardware to be effective next coming month. The specifics include the following: Starting on September 12, the company’s Nintendo DSi will be lowered from $170 to $150 and on the launch day of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, the DSi XL will also go down $170 from its former $190. On the other end, DS Lite hardware will remain at $130, the same price point at which it was launched in June 2006.

IOS convertibles? Sure, OS X and iOS in one is a dream come true but if Apple’s new patent for integrating this devices together in the same tablet it sure looks like they are in for the long haul. The idea is appealing because the benefits for combining IOS and OS X in a handy and accessible gadget means a huge step in technology innovation and evolution. But the big question still remains, “Can this almost amazing feat be pulled off?” Let’s review the facts, iOS runs at 320×480, 960×540, and 1024×768 while MacBooks and iMacs has 1440×900 resolutions. issues regarding the size of the tablet may also be a deterrent because if you combine this two devices the over all look and design of the tablet will be compromised. This proves true basing on Apple’s released patent of the futuristic gadget. Sure the idea that you can actually manipulate the gadget to turn into a touch platform in different angles is  appealing but who wants to carry around a five- pound tablet in a pocket that exist only when you own overalls. The thought that people would be walking around looking like farmers  just so they can carry their year two thousand tablets is ridiculous and it is a proven fact that “man bags” still makes eyebrows rise.
If Apple still wants to pursue such an undertaking, the old adage would still apply “something has got to give”. Combining these devices will surely mean that not all of the features that we enjoy in separate OS X and iOS will be successfully added in laptop- tablet convertibles. The bulk alone and the energy to keep this one of a kind convertible device fully functional and customer appealing is a challenge to the Apple boys. It would sure be a nice and welcome surprise if Apple’s touch patents could pull this off and actually improve the design in the next ten years.

India enters the Slate wars

Olive Telecom’s $500 Olive Pad has recently entered the market. The Olive Pad is basically a licensed version of an Android. Compared with Apple’s Ipad the Olive Pad is lacking in marketable punch with regards to looks. But judging by the target market which is, of course Indians, this may not matter so much because Olive Pad has a SIM slot. The Slim slot would enable users to access wireless data at the same time enabling them to communicate with other people through phone calls. The standard Google apps and market connections are also offered features for this gadget. The touch screen Android is a 7-inch tablet that has a 800 x 480 resolution capacity, WiFi, 512MB of internal memory,  an SD card slot, audio jack, 3 megapixel camera, and a micro USB socket.
The Olive Pad may not be a front runner in the ever growing tablet wars but it may and can be a success in its own country. Olive Telecom also proves that the domino effect for the race to easier, better, accessible technology which was started by Asian contemporaries will continue to grow and maybe dominate. Let’s just hope that Olive Telecom would come up with international customer friendly promotional videos in the future.

Amazon’s Handier Kindle

The third generation Kindle is the newest addition to Amazon’s line of e-book reader. This kindle is much more light weight, has a top notch quality screen allowing for  better contrast, has longer battery life that lasts almost a month with the wireless turned off, and most importantly a more affordable price compared to other e- book readers. The six inch Kindle is both lighter and thinner which makes it easier to carry around. The memory storage is also improved even if there is no expansion slot. It has 4GB of internal memory and can store 3,500 electronic books. This Kindle also sports a built in wifi that works best with the experimental WebKit based browser, built in PDF reader containing dictionary lookup ,notes, highlights, and headphone jacks as well as built in speakers. Another improvement on Amazon’s new kindle is faster page turns with page turn on buttons that are quieter. The screen may also be toggled to portrait and landscape mode by manually accessing the menu. And one may also enjoy  the expanded text- speech option in the menu when reading.

Although this Kindle is more accessible due to its thin and light weight design because users may actually carry it around in their back pockets , the e-ink screen demands a source of light during night hours or when one is in a dark room so the effort to carry it around may be senseless. The third generation Kindle is not back lit like the the Kindle DX and other IPads. The e-ink feature of the Kindle which was intended to reduce eye strain when the gadget  is being used in brightly lit areas contradicts the intended effect during dark hours. The new Kindle surely is handier but aside from the new menu buttons and modified joy stick Amazon’s newest Kindle offers pretty much the same functional capabilities as other e- books.

A Common thing to Showbiz

Ending relationships is never an easy thing to do; we start these special bonds through various special reasons… we have common wants and likes, we easily clicked on, have the same vibrations, shared one forgettable moment, have admired the even merely how she looks or acts, several reasons we could always justify. Sometimes, this relations is what we are, these bonds could mean the entire world to us, could bring us both the most melancholic and jovial times. What makes these relationships unique is the way we treat and nurture them; we should believe that there is no such thing as not-meant-to-be, no such thing as destinies or soul mates or a predestined fate that we could not alter it’s us that could make these all matter.
Divorce is more so a repeatedly overused term in showbiz marriages. We look at the most perfect couples having the perfect looks and bodies seemingly so matched to make a fantastic bouncing babies, we look at them with envy as all those sparkling fame and money seemingly making the package more of an absolute perfection. They seem to have it all but most of these only ends up to sad movies like this recent Bullock and James separation. They are celebrities with the most beautiful faces but they too are vulnerable to mistakes. James admitted to have been cheating on Sandra, he voluntarily ended their marriage saying he never wants “to be selfish not to let her go”.

Reuters, the national testing authority for cars has again seen bleaches enough for Honda to make recalls. The renowned car company has also made another product recall last February for problems on airbags and again this time, another for break problems. Vehicles are one of the most essential yet sensitive equipment needing months and months of analytic planning to come up with a safe means for transport. It does not only carry anything viable enough to load but also carries a living thing that is why this wheeled things is really carefully manufactured because it bears life.
Road accidents are not new to us all, we seem to be okay with it for almost hear it everyday in the news we encounter; but in reality, this should never happen; aside from having a decent driver, regular equipment check, good driving condition, and all other things, car companies can do their part by assuring to produce mighty, strong and safe cars above all those newly found additional features now a days. A product recall could be a downfall for companies or even mean stopping the business for a small scaled company  but in the long run, admitting their shortcomings and the willingness to improve their creations is one good sacrifice to make just to ensure safety for the users and credibility for the company itself.
